Um, hi, first post in the fediverse, kinda nervous. I'm Kaii (as in Kai with double i, not kali like the linux distro) and I'm a queer, autistic #vtuber from Poland.
I've been lurking for a couple days now, trying to figure out how all this works, but tbh I'm still not sure I get it
so any pointers for a fediverse noob would be appreciated ^^Also! Looking for moots, for that little bit of social-ness (?) on this social platform!

We all have 3 feeds.
Home is all the people and hashtags you've followed.
Local is all the people on your same server. Since you're on the biggest server, that's like a firehose of connections.
World is all the people followed by all the people on your server-ish. There's probably a better description somewhere, but since your local is huge, you might not notice a big diff between your local and world feeds.
Anyone new to you who just posts in your DMs is likely a troll/bot/griefer.

@DziadekMick thank you so much for the advice, I really appreciate it! I was already considering making an intro post, but wasn't sure it wouldn't be too redundant with this one, so it's good to have reassurance I was on the right track
Share as much as you’re comfortable with in your intro post. Quite a few will follow back automatically. Some will check you out before following and in my experience these are the more interesting folk. Fedi has a big neurodivergent community and quite a few trans folk. Also nerd central in many ways. Without an algorithm you have to seek and fetch contact. Start responding and it’ll work.
Unless you’re weird. As in “wired differently.” Such people as this abound. Anyway, welcome.

@inarticulatequilter thank you, I appreciate the kind welcome ^^ and no worries, plus, I don't think it has anything to do with being "old", it's just a niche like any other. I don't know the first thing about quilting either and I'm only somewhat sure I even know what it is

@nightkaii It might seem quiet here until you follow lots of folks. You can follow lots of #hashtags too.
And don't worry unfollow works as it should here too. -
