The ratio of people "yes, but"ting me in replies whenever I share a wild proposal to those that silently think "hm, makes sense" without posting a reply but taking my idea to do something with it must be at least 1:10.

So. Share your wildest ideas. Not because you want to be praised for it. But because you might inspire other strangers with specific knowledge to build stuff inspired by your idea without even telling you. Ideas want to travel to find new friends. Set them free. They might come back to you or not. Just share. That's what the Real Internet is for

@jwildeboer interesting aspect

The Fediverse is more open to this. It is (still) a place for people to talk to people, not to algorithms and bots. But we do have our share of trolls and folks that love to be against everything. Ignore them. Block them. Mute them. It's your timeline. It's your decision what you want to see in it

@jwildeboer i think about the paraphrasing of this all the time "your timeline, your decision", and i thank you for that.

ADDENDUM: The urge to "yes, but" is strong in many of us. We think (I am no exception) we know better. That when we see someone else proposing something we've tried in the past and failed at, the first impulsive reaction is the "It won't work and here's why". It takes humbleness to switch that around to "I tried that once, let me help you to make it work this time." Rinse, repeat. Rinse, repeat. Take your ego out of the equation. Ideas are bigger than people. Trust me on that!

And we who are silently acknowledging your posts talk quietly to others who are thinking calmly. Ripples and ripples of your thoughts. -

@jwildeboer "I tried it and failed. Here are my experiences. Maybe they help you succeed." is such a nice twist! I love it! Thanks for sharing!

@biokistenversteher Aaah finally that's the inevitable reply I've been scrolling for!
Good, so I don't have to post it. Seems to be quite a German sense of humour...@jwildeboer I also enjoy the cooperative mindset here very much. Some activists with an energy level several orders of magnitude higher than mine have really struggled with the silence that followed after the person was offended outside the Fediverse. But people here tend to turn their backs on fascist networks and to cool down offline. Both may look like ignorance, but those people still are allies of the good.
I made a habit of thanking for posts I read and valued by faving them even if I do not consider sharing. Just so folks know they are being seen and they are not alone. -
