NonMAGA Farmer lectures #Trump voting #MAGA farmers on the apparently inscrutable and mysterious concept called "consequences"
-
The MAGA crowd acts like the Russians. "Oh, why is the Ukrainians blowing up our warehouses?" "Why doesn't Canadians buy our alcohol? Or our beef?"
-
@benroyce brilliant, this....
-
@benroyce@mastodon.social This is a really well done video. It's kind of sucky that recent knowledge, doesn't help people be not stupid...

Most people seem to vote in their own best interests, not against other's interests. Cow farmers voted for Trump because Democrats wanted to put them out of business because their cow farts might contribute to global warming. Whether a 14 year old boy who thinks he's a girl can use the girls bathroom at school probably had nothing to do with the farmer's decision.
-
@benroyce kudos to this "blue" Farmer.
-
@benroyce they voted for him again because they got all that money last time

@rldjr @benroyce Ah, a boomer. That explains the head up ass lack of facts comment. Your very mention of trans people shows that in fact the right's scare bullshit is exactly what motivated them. I don't give a flip about trans people using the bathroom. Take them over the phone talkers and seat sprinklers any day TBH.
Liberals fought for Right to Repair against John Deere and against Monsanto suing farmers because their corn got pollenated by patented crops and roundup giving them cancer. -

@benroyce We had something very similar here in the UK re: Brexit - Farmers voted overwhelmingly for Brexit, then were hit with all manner of tariffs and/or red tape when exporting their produce to the EU.
"How come we never had these tariffs or red tape before we left the EU?" they asked.
Erm, because these tariffs and red tape were applied to things coming in from outside of the EU, but we were in, so didn't have them - but now, you dragged us out, so they now apply.
Oh, not to mention the UK farmers who were getting sizeable subsidies from the EU, but suddenly weren't getting them, and their businesses started failing because of this.
"Why aren't we getting Common Agricultural Policy subsidies anymore?"
Because that is only for EU farmers, and you are no longer farming in the EU, because you are a petulant little turd.
Oh, and lets not forget the seasonal workers who used to come over here for 3 months from Poland or Romania or wherever, work the harvest, and then go back home.
Yeah, turns out getting work permits for those workers is more difficult and more expensive than just invoking Freedom Of Movement within the EU.
"Why did no-one tell us about all this?"
We did, loudly and repeatedly, and you denounced it all as "Project Fear" and ignored us.
You did this, to yourselves, and to us, and we have very little sympathy. -
