My timeline is attracting too much doom and negativity. Can you point me to some folks to follow that DO things like implementing solutions with a smile instead of those that complain and are getting lost in problems, attacking any solution? I need more #IoK — The Internet of Kindness. Thank you for sharing! (Feel free to send as DM, to avoid the nay-sayers and reply-guys jumping on another sea-lioning opportunity)

@jwildeboer I recommend @tinker, @PhoenixSerenity and @cckitchen for people actually out there doing positive things
@jwildeboer @tinker @PhoenixSerenity
Thanks @afewbugs for the mention. I reckon we fit the bill for the Internet of Kindness.
️We're an anarchist collective at heart, with a volunteer list of 2000+ local people who have, since 2020, offered their time to be part of what we do.
Every Thursday and every Sunday, we cook around 450 hot meals, and fulfill 130+ separate delivery orders (with around 25 of them having some kind of dietary requirement).
Everything runs for free. No-one pays for food, and no-one is paid for making it. There's no means test at all to "qualify" – we believe everyone has a right to fresh, nutritious food, and we deliver to literally anyone who asks.
We have no owners, no managers, no trustees, no governors. We operate from a squat in the centre of Cambridge. We have a 5-star hygiene rating in our kitchen. We're proud of the community that we're building, and invite anyone local to get involved in any capacity, including eating the food!

@jwildeboer I get some nice stories with #community, #repaircafe, #rewilding
@jwildeboer also, when you follow more people, there comes a point where everything nice gets 20 reboosts. It is wise to block "boosts only" from the boostiest, so that their own posts and replies don’t drown.

@jwildeboer not sure if this is your speed, but I've recently started sewing and I followed that hashtag. There are also people doing visible mending with sashiko. There was an art portfolio sharing hashtag a few days ago which I thought was nice.
In general I feel like seeing creative things that people are passionate about is where its at. Maybe more dilution than what you're asking for though.

@fullywoolly Let me just say that I use Inkscape and Inkstitch since years to stitch badges and logos that I make publicly available at https://codeberg.org/jwildeboer/inkstitchMirror and also use my sewing and overlock machine quite regularly

@jwildeboer i follow the bloomscrolling hashtag and boost all the pretty pictures. It helps. I also have a plethora of filters and words muted/blocked. Also, i make a point to post random thoughts when i decide to make posts up here

@jwildeboer I didn't know about Inkstitch. That's so cool! Does your machine support multiple color threads or do you have to swap out and load another file to do that?

@jwildeboer I'd like to think I do, but admittedly, i do boost some concerning stuff and mostly toot silly stuff in Finnish.
However, now that you mentioned this, I'm going to make an effort to at least once a week to toot something proactive for unfucking the world
Also @RadicalGraffiti is a pretty good follow, as it Shouty Person: https://wandering.shop/@clacksee/116914223313189132

@fullywoolly I am using it with my sewing machine plus an embroidery table, so I have to manually switch colours. The files Inkstitch generates add a pause for that so my machine tells me on the display to switch. It’s a bit clumsy, but it works fine for me.

I was gonna suggest #RepairCafe!
I see some nice things on #VisibleMending as well.

@jwildeboer One signal that helps: follow people who post artifacts, change logs, or before-and-after notes instead of only opinions about a topic. Progress has a different texture from discourse. A weekly pass that mutes accounts which only diagnose problems can shift the timeline surprisingly fast.

If you like dog and nature photos, I recommend @dillyd.
If you like small talk about the weather, coffee, and other lighthearted stuff, I recommend @Uncleharvey.
If you like sassy little rabbits, I recommend @Satori and @ADailyViolet.
If you’re looking for good vibes and ideas for how to make the future better in general, I recommend @joybooster and all of the friendly folks at #SolarPunk.
May you find your tribe here.

@lydiaschoch @jwildeboer @Klara @dillyd @Satori @ADailyViolet @joybooster

But they should be forewarned, I'm not the follow me- follow you kinda tooter. But y'all are welcome to #myday's tootings n tellings over my morning coffee sipping.
