LLMs are actors. And I don't mean "agentic" by that. I mean "actors".
Tom Cruise is very good at looking convincingly like a Navy pilot behind the stick of an F-14 in Top Gun, but if you drop him into a real one on final approach to an aircraft carrier, he's going to die.
LLMs are very good at looking convincingly like they know what they are doing, but they don't really know anything either. Unlike Tom Cruise, the prospect of death means nothing to an LLM, so while Tom Cruise is unlikely to try to land a real F-14, the LLM will (pretend to) do whatever you tell it to.

@phreakmonkey @Salty as long as the point was gotten was all that counts at 5am .. He is a pilot and has many planes he flies.. does not really matter otherwise...

@lazysupper @Lstn2urmama I was originally going to go with Frank Abnagale and [everything] but he never actually tried to fly a plane or do any surgery and the thought of Tom Cruise crashing an F-14 was a bit more clear. FAIL!
