@benroyce I feel so desperately sorry for this man.

@jztusk @benroyce @clintruin @quizzicus May I use that in a neologism post? With attribution?

It's the English language, so I don't think I could even try to stop you.

@frequencyfault @benroyce @clintruin @quizzicus Rest of the world doesn’t give a shit about the US anymore. You go ahead and refuse to vote. We will all watch from the outside and laugh as your country slips into oblivion.
@BenCotterill @frequencyfault @clintruin @quizzicus
right?
these fucking losers loudly proclaiming their high holy outrage to not vote
when that is exactly the source of our problems
these stupid nonvoting assholes, and MAGA, are why we are where we are today

And before you all flip out on me, your beef is with the author of the article, Shaun Cammack."And let’s say the non-voter is a pacifist. He believes that violence is wrong no matter what. How, in any sense, are his beliefs represented in this election? Both parties build their soapboxes on graves."

it's with you and this dingbat author
if you're a pacifist, you vote for people who are also pacifists
if you're a pacifist, and you don't vote, thus making it easier for warmongerers to win, are you really a pacifist? or are you just a whiny loser with no real beliefs other than "i'm a fucking poser helping fascism but too fucking stupid to understand how"?
nonvoters have no beliefs
if you believe in something, you take actions for that

@jztusk @benroyce @clintruin @quizzicus It's always polite to ask. Not everyone is okay with being quoted or recognized as the origin of something.

Oh, yeah, I appreciate the consideration.
But I'm quite happy to be cited.

@benroyce @BenCotterill @frequencyfault @clintruin @quizzicus Not voting is like refusing to pick up a $1 bill off the street. $1 is not much by itself, but it's still $1 that came to you instead of having to struggle for it. Pick it up. Anyone telling you not to is basically hoping for more loose notes to blow *their* way.
Voting is expressing your preference. You are not tying your moral value to the thing you vote for. You are saying one choice is better than the other.

@log @benroyce @BenCotterill @clintruin @quizzicus Not voting is also expressing a preference. Lol
It's WILD how you guys' argument boils down to "we know the choices are terrible but you have to choose the least worst one for you because that's how the system works!"
Ok, well, then fuck the system. Insane how in your world it's the non-voters' fault Trump is back. 150 MILLION people voted and over HALF of "independents" broke for him...blame THEM and leave non-voters alone.

"Not voting is also expressing a preference"
Yes
The preference expressed is: "I'm fine if fascism wins"
So you're talking showboating losers who get off on self-righteousness and don't care what happens: entitled, preening selfish assholes whose self-regard is more important than who suffers in reality for their nonparticipation
Or you're talking a simple troll routine played by right wing agendas on cynical and perfectionist morons

@log @benroyce @BenCotterill @clintruin @quizzicus I will not comply with party elders stomping their feet demanding I vote. Give people something to vote for or shut the fuck up, honestly.
If the most convincing argument for voting Democrat (who are VERY right wing anyway) is "they're against MAGA," then sorry...try harder.
I know why suburban whites and seniors want everyone to fall in line behind the Dems...because they have A LOT of net worth to lose.

that's what a primary is. you vote in the primary, and you choose who is on the ballot
but shitbags like you don't vote in the primary, then complain the choices suck
we, asking you to vote, are not the problem
centrist corporatist democrat assholes are not the problem
YOU are the problem. nonvoters. you are why the system sucks
