For example when I’m talking to an English audience but I’m quoting a French text, what’s the etiquette there?
Perhaps I should tag in French in that case

No, there isn't, sorry. This has been brought up as an issue, others have faced the same problem.
If it's possible, maybe the best tag is the one that is a majority of the post?
