@annasdtc @ctt The noai.duckduckgo.com URL shuts it all off. In Firefox, I had to add it under "Additional search engines" and then I could choose it under "Default search engine." It could be made easier.

@ctt I selected "other" because I can't control the default engine on a lot of machines I use and for the ones I can control, I seldom use the default settings in the search. (It's wishy-washy nuance, I know)

Most used if I can is noai.duckduckgo and if I have to use Google I use udm14 and literal mode (made a search shortcut for it). No-optimal but those cut out most of the cruft.
