What makes me the most proud of my country Denmark, is our switch away from burning coal to now harnessing wind and solar energy.

Look at how much coal was burned 10 years ago (black color), and how much less we are burning now, because solar (yellow color) and wind (two top green colors) have taken over in the Danish electric power generation.

@randahl You (as a country) just have to want it and not let corporate greed get in the way.

@randahl is it just me, or is this showing that the total electrical generation in Denmark has been cut in half?
Maybe I don't know how to read charts...

@randahl you should plot that last stacked bar half as wide and twice as high if it represents 6 months rather than 12

@KevinMarks @randahl it took me embarrassingly long to understand, that they did not cut their consumption in 2026 but that the year is not over yet

@randahl ok cool, congrats! Like, really.
But also: can we please talk about the general upwards trend in consumption? about the issues of burning biomass, and gas, and the fact that all rising energy use is problematic and we have to use energy smarter, not harder? -
