To be even clearer than @pluralistic, what The Rich actually hate is reality's refusal to confirm that wealth = expertise.
Most of them truly believe that their wealth confirms their superiority - they think the assertion of someone else's expertise is usurping their rightful power.
To them AI is the promise of setting right this historic injustice against them.
