An older guy was telling the 3 young workers, that they need to work hard to get ahead ... I butted in, "working hard will get them in a grave sooner, what needs to happen is rentals, houses to be cheaper, and the cost of living needs to be reduced" ... This asshat hat said, "I had to pay 18% on my home loan"
To which I blasted "when you purchased your home, it was no more than 4 to 5 years wages, today it is a 12 to 14 years of wage to get a house"

@MelissaBearTrix Good for you. After 35 years in the workforce, the one thing I've learned is that the idea that hard work will be rewarded is complete bollocks.
