From now on, companies across the EU must be clear about their use of AI.

@davidrevoy @EUCommission The platforms will most likely use watermarks in AI content. If calibrated correctly, they have very low false positive rates. However, they are also easy to remove and it is unclear what platforms will do with AI content generated with unwatermarked Open-Weight-Models etc.
@phoerious @davidrevoy @EUCommission trust us we'll police ourselves

@EUCommission when EU will take care of Google monopolistic practicies?
There is almost no way to buy Android phone without GoogleMobileServices (GMS) GMS so intrusive that even EU countries GOVs Apps are dependend on them. Same with banking Apps.
GooglePay in GMS killed other contactless payment options. The ones that remains are dependent on GMS.
I'm so old that I remember when Microsoft was punished for preinstaling InternetExplorer. What Google is doing is worse.Hi @wod0bow. We regulate the gatekeeper power of large online platforms under the Digital Markets Act. In fact, we very recently fined Google €890 million for unfair search and app store practices You can read the press release here: https://link.europa.eu/vrNJTx

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu @wod0bow@mastodon.social if the EU really was regulating gatekeeping, we would not be needing to start movements like https://keepandroidopen.org/
We expect better from the EU -

Providers and deployers of AI must now
️ Label AI-generated content as such.
️ Flag use of deepfakes
️ Inform users when they interact with AI or when it is used to analyse their behaviour. ️We have published guidance to help companies comply.
Transparency helps build trust
> When AI is actively analysing you, companies must tell you
Yeah, because for-profit compagnies are so honest…
> Deepfakes and AI text on public interest topics must be visibly labelled
Obviously, fascists making up hateful and racist propaganda are going to put "deepfake" labels on their shit…

If you had spine, you would make this shit such as deep fake or analysing people with bullshit-generators-with-racist bias "intelligence", illegal, not require "to inform people"…

@EUCommission How about adding in "when using AI slopchat as customer assistance, always provide a means to directly contact real human customer service"
@anarchic_teapot Big tech corporate lobbyists wouldn't agree…

Did you know that Google revenue PER DAY is higher than that? This is called simulated actions.
What else did you do? Shake your finger? -

@EUCommission
I wish the US were as good at regulating tech companies as the EU. -

A step in the right direction.

@EUCommission A big step in the right direction.
@robinadams @EUCommission looks more like a half-hearted step in what's supposed to look like the right direction
