Ours is Tuesday, but not nearly so picturesque. It’s an auditory experience. First, loud clanking sounds, down the street, then a squawky “eep, eep, eep”, as the truck runs in reverse. Then the missus announces, “It’s trash day!” It’s totally devoid of beauty and romance.

I REALLY had to expand this photo in order to see the bin lorry away in the distance on this winding road.

It is on the Applecross peninsula, but the bin lorries avoid the Bealach and use the coast road.

In rural Ireland I had to bring our waste to the local landfill myself by trailer.
And we didn't live really remote, just 8km from Waterford...

Other lorries do go through that way tho. I was driving over it regularly in my 18 tonner and was meeting the others.
