@hbons they’re probably large enough that they have a design / marketing company who is now cutting corners. That’s the tragedy in a lot of places, that the people who should care about their own field don’t anymore (see software dev)

@hbons They never did TBH, but the people who mattered (keen users, like minded peers) did, and many still do. I have to believe that deep down lots of people still value craft and care, maybe not about every subject, but for everything I think there is a group who still care, and that it’s worth making things for them. Because probably that’s who we were making them for before anyway, there were just a lot of casuals drawn in as a side effect who now just more openly not care

@hbons they also just argued for a license change for "open source AI models" (which means open weight models) that will hinder people from suing model providers if they ever used a model. Linux foundation is not an ally.
