    @crazyeddie @tante @hbons it is honestly depressing how much of what I ask of people to do at work (and that they refuse to do) is basic due diligence that we’re already contractually obliged to do by one or more linked documents.
    Fuck, UCF is tainted by LLMs now. That sucks.

    @crazyeddie @tante @hbons UCF is a tool for taking all your requirements docs and lining them up in a way that you can say that fulfilling §5.1.4 of A also fulfills requirements B:27-2 and C:15.5. It also is a fucking web app checklist that someone can go through and fill out and print reports on to yell at people for not having all their T’s crossed and i’s dotted.

      @crazyeddie @tante @hbons it looked (aesthetically) like dogshit when I looked at it years ago but I approved of the mission.

        @ptesarik sorry, I'm not American. I don't know what's the symbol for an inch. I thought it's equivalent to arc minutes and I have zero will to check what's the actual symbol @hbons

            @c0dec0dec0de @tante @hbons

            UCF sounds similar to stuff I used.

            Using them gave me the idea to use git for such tracibility. Acceptance criteria in Gherkin or something. UML/SysML models created in the git database that link that to the code that passes it. Signed commits (an extended version) to officially approve the states of things.

            You could generate any number of reports from this to create packages for regulatory approval. No idea if it would actually get through that process tho.

                                      @hbons Illustrator and designer are different roles, but your point is made.

                                      The deeper question is how many people will notice the difference? Most people are semiotically unconscious. Images just fill a role in their environment. Details are not important to them.

                                        @hbons Illustrator and designer are different roles, but your point is made.

                                        The deeper question is how many people will notice the difference? Most people are semiotically unconscious. Images just fill a role in their environment. Details are not important to them.

                                        @8r3n7 you don't need to explain to me my field...

                                          The Linux Foundation had $300 million in revenue in 2025.

                                          can't hire a designer.

                                          absolutely pathetic.

                                          @hbons sent them a grumpy mail on their contact form. I doubt they will care.
