@ottaross I have the task of working with that kind of glue ahead of me this spring, as I have a rather nice antique wooden chair that cracked and that I am going to repair with it. I'm feeling a bit under the weather this week, but I may ask for some tips from you later on, if that's okay.

In the meantime, saw this and thought you might like:

@LillyHerself Happy to share anything I learn along the way. 🙂 Watch the 2nd hand shops for the tiny-sized slow-cooker pots, as they're perfect for heating the glue, and only cost a few pounds probably.

Thx for the chair museum link! Sounds fun. If I'm in the neighbourhood sometime I'll be there in a shot!

One of the more complex glue-ups is in place, with a dozen clamps on it.

I'm short four clamps which I can't find for some reason, but I managed anyway. They're probably in a weird box since the move. Pesky things.

"Festooned" with clamps, best describes this glueing situation.

A person can't have too many clamps.

@GustavinoBevilacqua @ottaross the required number of clamps in a shop is N+1 where N is the currently existing number of clamps

@wedge heh - they'd have to be lime green if they did I guess.

@ottaross @wedge it's only festooled if it comes from the Festool region of the shops, otherwise it's just sparkling clamping
