Project Ceti released a video showing the birth of a baby sperm whale near Dominica in the Caribbean. Scientists were astonished to see other female whales, some unrelated, helping out at the birth and holding the calf above the water so it could breathe. ‘This is the first evidence of birth assistance in non-primates,’ said a team member.
