@billyjoebowers Since support for the Trump administration is close to unanimous among American CEOs and business owners, boycotting specific companies is of limited usefulness. Cutting personal spending, especially by those of us who have some discretionary income, is essential.

@Patrickoldhiker @billyjoebowers I think there’s a selection bias to who we hear about (the worst are usually the wealthiest - and most celebrated, because they own the media itself) - there’s nothing about this administration that actually favors small businesses, for instance, and self-employed people are just people after all who span he spectrum of moral thought - but the practice remains the same. Don’t buy what isn’t needful (deferring sales taxes, as well); identify the least immoral actors when there’s no choice whether to consume; smaller and more local businesses should have priority for necessary purchases.

@billyjoebowers they're doing that too with AI but just wait and see, the fed will make up imaginary trillions of dollars to pretend like everything is fine ( just like they did in 2020) and then give them all cushy bailouts (like always), and at the end of the day it'll just be another huge wealth extraction scam where the capitalists get millions and the people get the bill (like always).
