Like, how the battery in my 5 year old car surely must have been replaced by now.
Oh and, as soon as the battery is drained a little, my car definitely won't make it uphill.
Oh and, I surely have to spend all my time waiting for my car to charge overnight.
And what if there's a societal collapse?

The best one always being "... and what if there is no electric power!?"
Well, then I drive it until it runs out, just like you do with your diesel - because your local diesel pump is also useless without electricity nowadays.
Granted, your local gas station may be ready to pump diesel manually and sell it by the gallon in jerrycans, but on the other hand there is a reasonable chance that my solar panels and my battery system may get a charge during the day, so there is that...
Seriously, leave them be. Tell them that this works for you, and if diesel or petrol works for them, fine - we all pay our own bills and do what we think is best.
We're past the 90% mark for new cars sold to consumers being electric here in Denmark, and the one thing that got most of the naysayers across the line was money in the bank.
Right now there is a rush to find a new or used EV because of the high fuel cost, and at the same time we have had weeks with sun and wind, making electricity cheaper on average than before the US/Israeli attack on Iran - that has made a lot of people rethink their stance on EVs.
