@spellingmistakescostlives What gets me is just how truly embarassing all of this stuff is ... like, it's beyond chintzy, well past the point of being "funny" bad, and deep into pathetic. None of them thought it worth the time to use an actual map or hire a professional graphic designer to do something even remotely less unsightly?

@spellingmistakescostlives yet another example of the US being terrible at graphic design. The fonts that they think give gravitas just look cheap. This isn't a new thing, think JW's "Mission Accomplished' banner or the front page of any "serious" US newspaper.
