It's that simple."However when Kyle Rittenhouse crossed state lines and shot three people (killing two) at a Black Lives Matter protest in Kenosha with an AR-15, Kash Patel on Fox News was raising funds and offering to pay Rittenhouse's legal fees.

Also worth noting was the attitude of Trump when it came to people bringing firearms to protests.
He of course infamously stated "When the looting starts, the shooting starts," in response to BLM protests.
And on January 6th;
"I don’t fucking care that they have weapons,” Trump fumed in urging aides to take down magnetometers near the White House before he addressed a “Stop the Steal” rally, Hutchinson testified. “They’re not here to hurt me. Take the fucking mags away.” -
