I feel like we had a talk about this years ago, before LLMs, about the meaning of creativity in the "blogosphere" or whatever is was we called it back then.I'm not surprised you call this creating, but I am maybe a bit disappointed. It feels like stolen valor. Like Trump being proud of "his" Purple Heart or "his" Nobel Prize.

@ChrisPirillo
Right, I remember why I gave up trying to talk with you ages ago. Flippant, zero-calorie engagement unless someone is fully supportive of what you're doing. Disappointing. -
@Sumire those should be fine. Is that second one from the a4? Is that how the PDF came out? I can see the registration markers are getting clipped off.
@ChrisPirillo I've written this in the ALT Text. The first one is the A4, the second one (with the clipped markers) is letter and this works fine. ^^'

@Sumire good news. I'm getting your problem fixed on the a4. I'm getting the characters to scan correctly now, but I'm going to start working on figuring out what's happening with the actual render.

@Sumire Okay. Try *either* (or both) of your scans again.

@ChrisPirillo Thanks, I'll do it tomorrow and give you feedback.

@Sumire I have tested it extensively, including nailing down a bug in just one of your lowercase f characters. That probably took the longest! It's always Edge cases. But if I fix it for you, I fix it for everybody. So I'm very grateful that you helped. I tried both of your scans and they work.
-
@s0 by the way, it's done.

@ChrisPirillo I've tried it now. It's really great! But there's one thing I really miss: correct quotation marks. In German, we do them like „this“: a small 66 at the bottom front, a small 99 at the back (not actual numbers, of course, but the numbers illustrate where they are thick and how they are curved).
Edit: I tried entering them as alternatives to " but I can't get them to work on the keyboard
@exil_inselette I just posted an update.

@ChrisPirillo Nice! How much will it be off if I print on A4 instead of Letter size paper?
@Ganneff update posted.

@dl2jml @der_mit_ph @exil_inselette working on A4.

@ChrisPirillo but... Letter size?
@krijnsoeteman done!

Having tested it extensively on my own manuscript, I can definitely say that it works.
Download the OTF and/or TTF when done!@ChrisPirillo Had something like this when I was a kid. Exactly the same setup. Large page where you write each letter, scan it in and it spat out your own custom font.

@tripplehelix I think it's fun.

@ChrisPirillo Sure is, I've printed a page. Just got to find a good pen to use.
