Quite a bit of setup still left, but I'm happy the basics are working, like that internet connection & also, screen rez & color etc. looks great 🤩 -

@cybervegan I hope so, too
the installation was actually pretty easy - but now comes the hard part; getting everything to work the way I want / need... -

@iain I wish
apparently including the proper Broadcom driver is impossible - I had to use my USB-tethered phone for internet during the installation & then install the driver manually, which wasn't exactly smooth, but I got there

@iain - with some help from the Zorum, where I also decided to post my solution, such as it is: https://forum.zorin.com/t/installing-on-2012-macbook-pro-cant-connect-to-wifi/53597/7

@jwcph Yes previously I ended up tethering my phone over bt and downloading at about 25kbps. I even hunted out my Apple Ethernet adapter but guess what… it’s a Broadcom device.
I’ll be interested in seeing how it will works, the last time I installed in my 2012 retina mbp it just pegged every core at 100%, burned through the battery in an hour and refused to sleep or hibernate when I shut the lid.

@iain I'm interested in that, too - FWIW, right now it's running & I'm doing various stuff, installing Windows apps through Wine/Bottles etc., and the fans are totally silent
The interface of the Win app is absolutely tiny, though, almost too small to read, I'm gonna have to look into that...
