    Power plant in a brook where a mill used to be. It's on the property of a conference hotel, and provides the entire house with electrical energy. It could power 90 (ninety) households.

    🌊⚡

    Found on the Mühlbach in St. Pölten/Austria.

        @VerenaRupp But what type of turbine-thingy is it? A mill would suggest a water wheel, but the slanted generator might suggest an archimedes screw?

          @VerenaRupp Is there a way for fish to transit upstream?

            @danimrich I don't know. But I doubt that there's a lot of migrating going on in a brook.

              @cm It's not a mill any more ^^but your guess is correct, it uses an Archimedes Screw.

                @VerenaRupp

                Funny fact: In India, a river runs through multiple states. One state set up a hydroelectric power plant to generate power for their state. An adjacent state, downstream from them, sued them in Supreme Court, claiming that they took all the energy out of the water before it went downstream, which isn't fair.

                😆
