Sometimes when I search up a question in a search engine it gives me results for the totally wrong question and and when I try to search up problems I'm having with Blender I mostly get old posts which are irrelevant to the latest version of Blender soooo yeeeah sometimes I just have to use AI to get what I want because there aren't any good search engines out there that I know of. It sucks that I have to do that but it's kinda necessary. I still prioritise search engine use though because search engines aren't completely borked.There's a search engine designed to index the non-commercial web https://marginalia-search.com/ (mastodon:

Also I've gone back to remembering which forums focus on specific topics and will sometimes search them directly.

I stopped using Google years ago, and I did not replace it with Bing either. Nor did I trust DuckDuckGo since it is in America.

I'm open to ideas!@davidrevoy @hacknorris @wikipedia Scrollwheel; it’s a huge scroll that anyone can add to, and it gets un/rolled to the point you want with the help of a captive demon running on an attached treadmill (doomscrolling, anyone?).
Could be that this for every different page instead of the whole thing, so you can set up a joke where some demons are sleepy and slothful and some demons are incredibly overworked from dealing with edit wars.

@jordan @davidrevoy word of mouth will always be the best publicity. I also like feed agreggators like bubbles.town and powrss.com . But those are more for discovery than search/research.
