This season's GOAT: Shogakukan Select Mook (short story anthology) with the appropriate (heh) theme of 食, and this book about the train lines in Kanagawa/Tama areas and the historical routes that shaped the modern lines

Also bought this ruler/magnifying glass thing that is supposed to make it easier to focus on one line at a time. I'd been making do with regular bookmarks but find myself squinting a lot, probably because I need to get my eyes checked for reading glasses (sigh). Figured this would be a good stopgap til whenever I actually get that done
I think the rounded effect on text is a little distracting, like I can probably get used to it
but it's definitely not as good as digitally increasing font size -

but it's definitely not as good as digitally increasing font sizeI think at some point I had a big rectangular magnifying glass for reading, but I don't know where it disappeared to and anyway I remember it being annoying to use since I had to hold it up a bit from the page to get the magnifying effect
This ruler is okay, I will try to use it (and it's much more portable) but it does make me appreciate dedicated e-readers all the more for just being able to blow the text up huge without much effort haha
