#mastodonhelp anyone have a clue why I cannot boost certain posts? The boost button is active and appears usable, but I simply cannot tap/activate it. Same applies to tapping into the ellipse menu and trying to boost that way.

Are some instances configured to only allow boosts from a certain audience or group of instances? If so, why isn't the boost button appearing as inactive? Using Ice Cubes, fwiw.

@ianto_jones Followers only posts cannot be boosted. Are you following them?

Yeah, you can only boost public or unlisted/quiet public posts.

Followers-only or mentions-only posts cannot be boosted as their visibility has been deliberately restricted by the author of the post.
