You ever think about how weird it is that Ted Turner just called everything he did by his own name?

You ever think about how weird it is that Ted Turner just called everything he did by his own name?
Turner Classic Movies, Turner Broadcasting System, Turner Network Television, Turner Enterprises, Turner Field, Ted's.
"Hi, my name is Ted Turner and I founded the Cable News Network, and then I decided to name everything everything else after myself."

This would be like me calling New Ellijay Television "Roach Broadcasting" instead.

(This rant brought to you by my sleep deprived brain trying to come up with a good name for a project I probably won't have time to undertake this decade.)

God damnit, now I'm considering calling a completely different thing that I *am* working on Roach Broadcasting.

I was talking about some music and films with a friend earlier, specifically talking about the context of those pieces in history, and one of my co-workers suggested that I should start a podcast highlighting lesser known but interesting or historically significant media.
And like ... That's what @archives is all about!
But I just do movies and TV there, and I don't provide any context, I just share the stuff.

And I've been meaning to do a Mr. Lobo style thing called Captain Video where I contextualize some of the works from Archives (Kind of like Toon Heads or The Tex Avery Show) but with me in character as Captain Video the whole time.

But that'd just be for video stuff. Captain *Video* is not going to do a segment on a novel or a game or a song or a poem.
And so I was thinking about what something like that, that covers a more broad spectrum of media might look like, and realized that it would look like fucking every media youtube channel under the sun, and I don't have anything unique or interested to say about these things other than that some of the things I have things to say about are pretty obscure.

But then I find something that I think is pretty obscure, and I start talking about it and I get a million people in my mentions like "That's not obscure, I've known about that thing since I was a child. I learned about that thing from Barney! You obviously know *nothing*."

And, like: https://xkcd.com/2501/
No I don't think everyone knows about Sylvester Weaver, even people who are pretty deep into blues music.
And also Lucky 10,000 https://xkcd.com/1053/
Let people be excited about things.
