The EU is already pissed off with the laziness of companies who just dumped a “is it okay” prompt on their sites and are loooking to further change the legislation. It was supposed to encourage companies to stop snooping, not just expect them all to give a pop-up demanding permission and making web browsing annoying.

I use Koko Analytics with WordPress, and Koko can be used cookie-less.

Even if you let Koko set a cookie, it only lasts until midnight in the user's time zone, which hardly qualifies as tracking.

The real danger is leaking information by embedding foreign stuff on your site. I simply don't embed anything anywhere, which is not locally served.

@maxleibman I also do not bother. If I get greeted with a "allow our 275 Partners" I am out.
It also prevents me from reading many of the links here. However, the good thing is, if the post peaks my interest I will search for it myself and try to find information on a source that does not want my soul. Bonus, I have checked if there is more than one source talking about it.
