The Fediverse is a great size now because my feed is chock a block with interesting and amusing posts from plenty of people I explicitly follow.. and nothing from bots or ads or algorithms that I dont!

So long as my feed stays full and interesting I don't care how big the Fedi is.

@johnzajac I like the feed and interactions on fedi right now. I'm following maybe 20% of the accounts as I might on other media but the end result is higher quality and more interesting to me here

@johnzajac We're having a good time, but the sepsis in the commercial "social" media is leaking out into the general population. I think getting people off of those, possibly using a less toxic alternative is a worthy goal. So for the sake of the world we *should* try to grow.

I agree that growth obsession is trash, however a growth MINDSET is healthy and adds value to any social platform. A social network is neither social nor a network without users to engage with.
