    @CiaraNi the series was really nice too, lovely piece of fiction.

    @CarstenBoll Ah it was made into a film or TV series so. I hadn't heard of it until I saw it in a display at the library. I gather I am behind the times, because everyone I excitedly tell about 'this brilliant book I discovered!' says they already know it well.

        @CiaraNi haven't read the book, so you're ahead of me at least 📖🙂

            During a quiet moment about 2 hours after I got to work, I thought I heard a bee trapped in the corner. I investigated and it turned out the buzzing noise was Kirsten Potter continuing to read Station Eleven to me through the earphones inside my bag. I'd forgotten to hit Stop when I arrived at the office. One disadvantage of an audiobook: you can't quickly flip back to see where you were. But I don't mind hopping way back and re-reading. It's gripping.

            @CiaraNi This is in my reading queue on my Kobo. Can't wait to start it! (Even though there's more than enough apocalyptic reality going on at the moment...)

              @CiaraNi of course, reading is not a competitive sport. If you only read one book a year and it's from 1882 that's fine 😁

              I barely read these days, but I will eventually prioritize it again. Right now I am doing techy shit instead, yknow.

                @macpsych So far I am struck by the solarpunk and Making-It-Work glimpses of post-collapse life in the dystopian world. It is both gripping and thought-provoking. Enjoy (if that's the right verb for a dystopian novel) when you get to it!

                    @CarstenBoll Asolutely agreed. Jeg kunne ikke være mere enig! One book a year, a few books a month, an abridged serialisation as a podcast, an audiobook, a multi-volume print edition - whatever anyone likes. I was thinking here about the fact that I thought I was the last person on Earth to have read specifically Station Eleven. I thought I discovered it all on my owny-o but it seems to be world-famous. Now I know you haven't read it either so now I am only the second-last person 😁

                      @CiaraNi

                      I know dozens of people who've never heard of it OR the series! You need to talk to some more ignorant people 😄

                      I don't know anything about your life, of course, but from your posts I imagine you spend most of your free time lounging about in book cafés, walking by the Harbour, and maybe talking to clever people. That's your problem right there!

                      Come to Tilst, I guarantee you no one here has heard about it.

                        @CiaraNi It's an extraordinary good story. I really loved it. And the TV series really captures the feeling of the book, it was a pleasure re-experiencing the story in images.
