@55SweetThing #globalmuseum #music #guitar #Stradivarius@globalmuseum fantastic! this is Rolf Lislevand playing "Tarantela" from Santiago de Murcia at the Museo del Violino in Cremona.
-
@globalmuseum This is amazing. Also, why do I now want to hear it run through distortion?
@globalmuseum Pure sacrilege, but I made it happen (poorly). 00:50 - 1:20 is particularly good.

I visited the Museo del Violino in Cremona a couple of years ago. If you are in the area (Milano - Brescia - Piacenza) it is a really well worth a visit. The collection has been moved to a modern building from the 1940s (Italian modernist/futurist style?) and it is stunning.

Cremona also has the Torrazza which is worth the climb.

@tribactam @globalmuseum thanks for your post! I am quite frequently in the North of Italy and will try to visit the museum. it indeed looks very worthwhile.

The first time I went in the 90's it was like walking into a bar off the main saquare with stradivari in glass cases and no explanations.
This version is much better and the building itself has an interesting history as the Palazzo Dell'Arte which focused on promoting the craft of the local luthiers in the 1930s-40s.

I mean, I'm sure it sounds great but I can't tell from this, the recording, maybe the room, seems bloody awful

@55SweetThing #globalmuseum #music #guitar #Stradivarius@globalmuseum Grateful for this performance. Also ruminating on the terror I would feel about playing an instrument that was literally the last of its kind, for fear I might break something in the process
