As Canadians and Europeans, we grumble a lot. Often for very good reason.
But I think why the US Administration hates and fears both Canada and the EU so much is because they are terrified that one day, their own people will realise that it is possible to live in a society that:
-Takes care of its sick
-Gives people dominion over their own bodies.
-Gives new parents time to adjust to a new baby
- Makes hate speech a crime
-Takes the concept of the rule of law seriously
-Embraces human rights -

All of what is going on is the backlash after progressive Feminism started making real gains. I don't know why we didn't see it coming. -

Also, what we're seeing in the US and elsewhere is the culmination of the campaign that's been going since the 60s geared towards undoing the workers' rights that were achieved in the post war consensus.

The irony of it is… gender equal rights, like racial equal rights, were good, socially and economically for everyone. Including men.
It has been unrestrained capitalism that has hurt men (and almost everyone else). That is the one thing they really don’t want us to talk about.
