@ana Actually, speaking of malls, I'm surprised these corpo nerds aren't buying out current, abandoned or demolished malls to make data centers instead of wasting resources to create new data centers.

@mast0d0nphan @ana probably cheaper & easier to build from scratch, rather than modifying existing buildings

and also why they don't build vertically, instead of spreading out the slop box till its the size of Manhattan

@ana Because you can enter a mall and peek at the rubbish, before you buy it. While with "AI" datacenters the slop is randomly mixed by some algorithm before it's sold as gold.

@ana "datacenter" sounds high tech thus great for investors. Honesty tends to drive investors away (Uber didn't become a global taxi company by being honest about being taxis, they became a global taxi company by saying shit about personal limousines and calling it "ride sharing")

but I don't understand your post

my point is very simple: contrary to what many here think, AI is, today, a very powerful and very useful tool.

you can call me a fool or knave or liar, but that is what I and a lot of other think

that doesn't mean that *overall*, that AI is a net benefit: I dont know much about that
