Sando is such an intense cat, he fixates on one thing at a time, and right now it's this silicone brush.

He so politely woke me up this morning by curling up on my legs, because he is a solid cat and therefore it's noticeable.
Of course, he was just preparing to be the first to know when I was awake so that I may commence brushing.
I can't even be in the bedroom right now without MEEEROWWWWWW, like he's just going to spend all day waiting on the bed for me to brush him and loudly remind me of my duty whenever he sees me.
It seems even Spiegel is a bit concerned about this behaviour because he jumped on the bed batting around a twist tie, which is Sando's favourite fetch toy. (Spiegel taught Sando fetch, and sometimes still displays big brother behaviour by demonstrating how to drive me nuts). I threw the twist tie but nothing from Sando. Only brush. Must have brush.

If I remove the brush from view he does eventually settle back to his normal behaviour, so I suppose I'm enabling him by leaving it out.

He does the thing when he’s sitting upright where, when I’m looking at him, he’ll paw at the brush and maybe rub his face against it and then look back up at me, to communicate with me what he wants. Like this wasn’t already clear.
Still, better than the repetitive meowing.

Unsurprisingly, running the brush under a tap and then brushing Sando has made it more enjoyable to him, perhaps mimicking being washed by his mom…

#caturday is more of the same, with Sando making the hardcore brushing demands. At first I saw him in perfect catloaf form, thinking he just wanted old school attention, but the brush was entirely under him. He's now figured out he can pick it up with his teeth and carry it so there may be no escape for me.
If I reach my hand towards him he grabs it with those claws and pulls it towards the brush, and when I pick up the brush he grabs it again to direct it to his face, like he doesn't think I'm capable of performing a brushing correctly.
I adopted him from one kitten photo where he looked really intense, but holy shit.
