@mimarek I had someone tell me this week that all of the lasting and serious effects of covid that I live with now are because I was vaccinated.

Honestly, it should be socially acceptable to punch people like that. Absolute rat bastards.

@W6KME @mimarek I was in a conversation with someone who claimed he never had covid but ended up with some pulmonary malady which he blamed on the mrna vaccine he was "forced" to take. All the while puffing on a cigar.

@mimarek I don't dispute their safety. And while they may be highly effective at inducing recognition of the epitopes presented, the Omicron era vaccine has been an utter stinker when it comes to preventing infection and long term consequences arising therefrom. That's not necessarily the fault of the mRNA platform itself so much as it is adhering to a payload strategy that worked for the Wuhan Lineage but not Omicron.

@mimarek It's sad that it had to go this far. It wasn't as if it was an overnight thing. It had been researched for a really long time. And really, it had just plain actual logic backing it. The actual mechanism is ultimately so simple... I want to say "but at least this should finally prove to the detractors," only I guess antivaxxers are so used to ignoring evidence and facts that they'll still insist they are bad because of some other made up reason.

@mimarek My problem was never this or that vaccine. My problem was with the control of vaccines by a small number of global big pharma oligopolies.

For instance there was a modern pharmaceutical plant in Bangladesh that sat idle during the peak of the pandemic while COVID-19 raged through South Asia.

What we really needed was a "People's Vaccine", open source and that could be produced in any competent facility.
