@seolucius check out @FediTips ! Follow hashtags that interest you, and when you run across people that look interesting, follow them. Once you start meeting people your timeline will become fun.

@seolucius Welcome! You'll be glad to know that you are the algorithm here! I second the suggestion that you follow hashtags of interest, and consider putting them in your introduction. Here are some of my favorites: #SilentSunday #Bloomscrolling and #Asstodon (totally not what you think). You are sure to find kind, real, quirky people.

Yup. Step 1 is hashtags, hashtags, hashtags. I recommend 25 minimum, more is better.
Got an interest? Follow that hashtag: #art, #gaming, #photography , #music ....
Get more specific: #bostonphotography , #retrogaming , #hiphop ....
And don't forget geographical tags, for your city!

Also, add at least some details to your profile. Right now yours is empty, so people might be a bit suspicious that you're a bot or something.
2-3 items is enough. "I'm from the mid-West and I like The Office, Mexican food, and my dog"

There aren't any algorithm deities on here, that's one of the best things. Everything that happens is under your control.
