    @xxv your 1.5yo kid should rather learn frustration. The moon is not always visible, period.

    the longer you wait, the harder it will be. frustration. important. or do you want a king baby?

    @f4grx @xxv Tell us you never had kids without telling us you never had kids.

      My 1.5yr old kid is obsessed with the moon. He asks for it all the time, so we try to bring him outside and show it to him. Of course it's not always visible and he gets sad.

      Due to Reasons I happen to have a galaxy projector that also has a built-in pico projector in order to play cheesy "3D" space videos. I figured that it probably had a micro SD card somewhere in it, which turned out to be true.

      So with the help of a screwdriver and ffmpeg I've now given my kid his very own moon.

            @f4grx @xxv

            You're saying don't teach a kid that creative solutions can solve frustrations?

            Also there's still -plenty- of frustrating things left in the world, even for toddlers.

              @xxv My daughter is terrified of Jupiter. I think they should get to know each other.

                @xxv This is so cute! Hope he'll appreciates it later that you brought the moon down for him!

                  @xxv The ffmpeg and screwdriver approach is the thing. Not buying a moon lamp off Amazon. Opening the hardware, finding the SD card, and making it exactly what your kid wanted. That is real engineering.

                    @xxv Very cool. When I was a kid, my uncle painted all of the planets, the moon, and stars on the walls of my play room with glow in the dark paint (with a dark blue background) and my mom put a black light in the ceiling fixture.
