      This is neat. I tried to plant a dawn redwood in my yard in Colorado but it didn’t work out.

        Super cool! Im suprised theyre doing so well in such a different environment. It’ll be interesting to be able to tour the forests once they get rooted and have some growth.

          Giant sequoias are not native to Michigan. And, yet, they’re somehow thriving in the state, which has a much cooler and wetter climate than their native California.

          Now hold up. From a quick online search, Detroit gets about 35 in of rain per year. The areas of California where giant sequoias live get about 45 inches per year. And they supplement that by absorbing fog through their leaves. If anything, it seems like Michigan is drier than the sequoias prefer.

          And, of course, Michigan is a lot warmer than it used to be.
