      It’s time governments stopped protecting Shell and friends and started TAXING THEM to fund real protection for communities on the frontlines of extreme weather.

        @greenpeace
        It's also being fueled by the consumption patterns of the 800 million humans who produce nearly half of the pollution.

        Blaming just one side of the equation allows the other side to slough of responsibility.

            @JeffC1956 @greenpeace The consumption patterns are enabled by the system, the "other side of the equation" has no blame to take.

              Sadly, blaming "the system" can be another cop-out...

                @JeffC1956 @greenpeace No, when the system itself is set up to enable certain patterns then the system itself that takes the blame, because it is the source of the problem. So no, blaming the system isn't a cop out, it is where the blame is supposed to live.

                  @JeffC1956 @greenpeace It's also being fueled by the consumption patterns of the 800 million humans who are indoctrinated into consumerism by being exposed to the corporate advertisement industry, with a lifestyle like driving cars imposed onto them because of the corporation-created car dependency, hyperconsumption because brick and mortar stores closed and you could only buy online, where tracking and algorithms created by people who studied psychology, literally how the human brain works, to manipulate you into buying just one more thing for free shipping and shit, who produce nearly half of the pollution.

                    @JeffC1956 @Newhereish @greenpeace

                    I understand your point. But my feelings/opinion:

                    I've made changes in my life. Drive electric, solar panels, batterie, no more meat, not more flying (that one hurts), etc.

                    But I keep being confronted by hearing "we need to do more". I keep being told I need to feel guilty...

                    I'm so done with that feeling while seeing people still flying private jets etc....
