@lumakestuff Hi welcome to the the fediverse as a whole and mastodon! I am linux artist but unfortunately I do not post often due to not having much time but I would highly recommend everything @FediTips posts because they give really helpful advice and links on how to use mastodon! Ofc I would recommend their hashtags post because some hashtags and quite literally not their actual name so be warned! But again welcome and I hope you manage to find a fun community here!

Maybe it helps to follow hashtags of things that you‘re interested in. That‘s a huge advantage that you can follow hashtags here.
I‘m in rush right now, but there are lots of photographers and artists here.
Give it some time though, but in my meanwhile several years here I really grew to love the Fedi and its (mostly) friendly nature. -

Follow hashtags first. That will help you find people to follow.

@lumakestuff you may want to follow the hashtags you have mentioned and things like #fediArt or #Photography to find people thst post those items and then follow them

@lumakestuff for photography try browsing local feeds on larger pixelfed instances and tags like #monochromemonday , #believeinfilm or #silentsunday

@lumakestuff I recommend following a handful of hashtags. If someone posts something you like, check out their profile and see if it's interesting to you. But anyway, welcome and hope you enjoy it here! Mastodon is as loud or as quiet as you want it to be
