I am linux artist but unfortunately I do not post often due to not having much time but I would highly recommend everything @FediTips posts because they give really helpful advice and links on how to use mastodon! Ofc I would recommend their hashtags post because some hashtags and quite literally not their actual name so be warned! But again welcome and I hope you manage to find a fun community here!

Maybe it helps to follow hashtags of things that you‘re interested in. That‘s a huge advantage that you can follow hashtags here.
I‘m in rush right now, but there are lots of photographers and artists here.
Give it some time though, but in my meanwhile several years here I really grew to love the Fedi and its (mostly) friendly nature.
