Ik ben wat videos uit 1997 aan het kijken en kom er net eentje tegen waar ik zelf voorbij loop
Zou mooi zijn om het nog een keertje te kunnen meemaken. En nee, ik heb geen illusies dat het ooit nog zal gebeuren.
De videos laten wel mooi zijn dat de sfeer in de steden goed was. De hele stad was overspoeld met muziekgroepen, blije mensen en net-iets-te-dure broodjes worst kraampjes.

@EvilCartyen In short: the changing climate doesn't create long enough cold periods to get about 15 cm ice on the entire 200km+ route.
Weather is variable and it can still happen. But combined with a bunch of other factors (can't do it in extreme weather, need some days of preparation etc etc) the odds are low.

IIRC, the weakening of the gulf stream and other sea circulation systems will impact the jet streams which keep the arctic cold mostly confined. So while we will get overall warmer temperatures, sudden cold spells will also become more common.
At least that's my understanding!
