The fact that they say this and then let google walk away is irrelevant? Stop looking at vibes and start looking at actual policies. The commission has been consistently bad on digital rights (among other things) and they have to be called out if we want to preserve our rights.

European politics are turning right, yes - but extremism is generally kept at bay in the real world. You'll always have the outliers shouting the loudest and claiming to speak for the oppressed and the minorities, demanding everyone else respects their ekstremist views while respecting no one.

This is contradictory to their statement and it is our right to call it out. When you also add ai scanners and digital ids, you begin to understand that they push policies sold to them by tech lobbyists against our interests.
