    How tenaciously Palantir courted Switzerland

    The controversial tech company Palantir provides surveillance technology to militaries and intelligence services around the world.

    In Switzerland, however, its pitches have been rejected by both government authorities and the army. Internal documents have now revealed why.

    Our articles from December 2025 finally available in english and paywall-free!

    Because of THIS article (there is another one) Palantir is suing us.

    Please read and spread it. And if you want donate and support us, you can donate us for this specific article without subscribing.

    We are commited to journalistic standards, we have a huge documentation and provided lots of evidence to the court.

      @adfichter “The rise of the West has not been made possible by the superiority of its ideas, values, or religion, but rather by its superiority in the use of organized violence.” - Palantir CEO Alex Karp.

        @adfichter
        “Palantir is a U.S.-based company, which means there is a possibility that sensitive data could be accessed by the US government and intelligence services.”

        For citizens of the 5 eyes countries (UK, Canada, Aus & NZ) we already have to assume that all data held by "our" governments are shared with Big Jackboot.

        Absolutely no reason for other countries to put their citizens in the same position.

            @adfichter History rhymes.

            In WWII, IBM with its Hollerith machines did the same for the German regime. Calculating familial relations, densities in cities, number of train wagons, distances, timing, you name it.

            The Germans were not capable of doing such: IBM organized it. In the end they where paid in housing blocks in Berlin.

            This all is well documented. Peter Thiel, being born in Germany, knows this.

              @adfichter This is not a comment on the article or contents whatsoever, but the toot's language: it is set to German - which might prevent it spreading further. (Some people filter certain languages. Another thing is that the setting prevents translations of the toot or at least makes it harder, I think.)

                  @adfichter I had to look it up because I wasn't sure if it's the same for all servers/apps, but the account @FediTips was here to the rescue! 🙂

                  Basically, you need to do this *before* publishing a post. There should be a button somewhere in the "toot writing box". I think if you edit your toot, you can find the language button somewhere, too. For me, it's in the upper right corner of a toot after I clicked on edit.

                  Here is a website that explains it in more detail: https://fedi.tips/setting-your-language-preferences-on-mastodon-and-filtering-out-posts-in-other-languages/

                    @adfichter When I am clicking on your first toot, it doesn't show me it's German anymore. Weird.

                    But maybe it's something to consider for future postings.

                      You can also change this after publishing a post by editing it! 🙂

                      It's never too late to use the correct setting.
