There are people in journalism who have no experience of a world in which we actually covered many different topics in a day.
I feel like I've been mentally force fed McDonalds for ten years non-stop.
I would like it to be over before I die, please.
@Remittancegirl i remember when journalists asked the presidents unflattering questions

My sister was taught that as a psychiatric professional if you always say to yourself "oh no, not that guy" when you look at your schedule, this is a good diagnostic hint that the person has a personality disorder. Trump is that guy and we all have him on our schedule EVERY day. -

Donald Trump has figured how to rape everyone. He knows it. It's only why he's happy. His every impulse is smothering violation and I am motherfucking tired of this ridiculous mobster loudmouth asshole doing it. His entire life is the utter failure of Humankind.
We are the corrective measure of our own Human disease. We must be the vaccine to his constant violations and attacks on our whole.
@GGMcBG The thing is, I can almost guarantee, if it makes you feel any better, that he's not at all happy.
His capacity to be happy only lasts about 30 seconds. He's probably one of the most unhappy people on the planet, and now the rest of us all have to pay for that.
-
@Remittancegirl Yes! I DO have TDS, but it's not my fault. It's a natural and sane reaction to having the same clown looming everywhere you look saying some stupid thing, and a whole society talking about the stupid thing ad infinitum. I have the fatigue you have when your body is fighting infection, only it is psychological and spiritual. My defenses are always up and I know I won't be able to rest until he is dead.

I love people of all sorts, of all 'minorities' (there's more of them than the so called majority) including muslims, lgbtq+, disabled, brown or black, fat, normal, skinny, refugee. It's not my nature to despise or hate anyone. But I do hate the likes of Trump and all his supremacist cronies. I really, utterly, deeply, agressively hate them. -

And I really find it very difficult to 'hate' anyone. But them... I fucking hate them. @VampirePenguin

@Remittancegirl Same. I live for the day, the month, the year, when I never have to hear that fucker's name.
@elronxenu @Remittancegirl I want to hear that fucker's name 3 more times.
Once to hear he has become the lamest of lame duck presidents, on a three week long impotent sleepless rant on Truth Social.
When he is on a 6 month impotent sleepless rant when he's dragged through courts and his successor sandblasts TRUMP off everything he pissed it on to like an incontinent dog.
And when he dies while barfing out his final impotent sleepless rant on Truth Social from his golden toilet.

Yeah the only people worse than that motherfucker are the myriad of motherfuckers who've enabled him and a lot of them are in media.

I know in my heart and rationally that hate will harm myself and circle more than it will hurt them. It is their bread and butter. It is their currency. If I hate them, they win. That said, I will never stop pointing out their lies and misdeeds and will resist them in every way. They are losers and I will delight in watching them fall hard as a consequence of their arrogance and cruelty.

@Remittancegirl There are 10-year-olds who've never known a world when TFG wasn't force fed to the world on a daily basis. Think about that.

@Remittancegirl agree. I feel like there is a significant portion of if the news that is basically "Donald Trump said ..." And some reaction commentary gathered from social media.
That's it.
Takes up so much space, basically just click farming, and does absolutely nothing.

My dad literally canceled his cable package over it.(He's old, so it had not occurred to him that he doesn't actually need cable)

I've posted before that the period after his first term was so beautifully quiet, even here in Australia we were continually updated on his latest brain-farts, with next to no filter or reflection.
Looking forward to that blessed quiet again.

@Remittancegirl Good point. However, the problem goes deeper. The reason these idiot stories make it to the top of the spread every day is that they generate attention, clicks, advertising revenue. Thus, if the newspapers out of benevolence decide to lead with something else they risk loosing revenue to their competitor. Before we can change the dynamic of the mass media it is necessary to first make more profound modifications to how the entire logic works.
-
@Remittancegirl the thought that scares me a bit is that this might very well not be the last time that social media catapulted someone this unqualified to such a consequential position

@Remittancegirl not only heard trumpery but heard patently deranged gibberish reported as if the president of the US didn’t also happen to be the most delusional, corrupt imbecile ever to hold office and it was all perfectly normal and rational
Never a challenge, never editorialising to make it clear the man is lying nor - as you suggest - never any ignoring of rambling moron who never says anything worth reporting other than as evidence of the need to have removed him from office
