@jon Probably the most popular Finn in Sweden

@sebwilken @jon I thought that was another Mark, Levengood.
-
@jon This is quite common in Germany and routine, unless they encounter any issues with the bomb, the disposal team should be quick in disabling and removing it.
#FamousLastWords@kobold Right, I know. I am German

And as I approach Stockholm, and my train is using a line also used by the Pendeltåg, have some Markoolio
The silliest railway track since Ferd rapping about a draisine
BTW how much did all of this cost?
My workings are here:

So I *think* you can get around the WWII bomb in Hamburg by routing Schleswig - Neumünster - Bad Oldesloe - Hamburg Hbf, and it even does not add *that much* time
Let's consider all of this again tomorrow morning!

@jon That kind of bomb has to cleared instantly. So its likley everything will be just normal tomorrow. Hopefully.

It seems all passengers in your Copenhagen - Hamburg train will be locomotive drivers.. Must be something new DSB bought..
Have a good night!

@tml I think you're right, Mark Levengood is very popular and hard to beat! @sebwilken @jon

Oops! Yesterday I passed 500m from there

I'm currently reading Ursula LeGuin's 'Earthsea' books, and there are bits where dark forces prevent the wizard from reaching the isle that is his destination! No magic is helping him, so he has to take detours, meets an old friend again, then only after a long route of travels and learning he finally reaches his goal.
Let's see how your trip further develops

(This week already saw train strikes in Italy and the Netherlands and it's only Wednesday

@tml @sebwilken @jon In a poll about ten years ago about who people in Sweden would want as their neighbour, Mark Levengood won with a huge margin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLJgW7tSEZ4

While I'm pretty sure they will defuse the bomb before morning, there will be train fallout from ICEs ending in Hannover or elsewhere.

@jon damn it, sorry I forgot.

@Pepijn self-checkout for train travel?
-
Also it’s quite funny: had I escaped Haparanda yesterday, I’d have got caught by the line closure due to the bomb in Hamburg today
As it is the bomb *might* be clear by tomorrow lunchtime?

@jon thanks for this very thorough page, as I was curious about the price of this trip with and without interrail.
Interrail is not always the best value, especially when you are travelling as a family (kids>12), but it certainly offers a level of flexibility that is worth taking into account.
And for the little story, Rovaniemi - Faro, booked for in 28 days, is 462€ with the cheapest possible fare by airplane (2 stopovers).
As more often than most people think, the train is cheaper.
