That cover image boggles the mind, once you realise that it is a *floating* solar park! It's on a frigging lake!
I think this part of the article was particular interesting:
"Local authorities and grid operators have promoted models including village-wide rooftop PV projects and coordinated installations across industrial parks."
- as well as:
"To support continued growth, State Grid Jiangsu has expanded distribution-network capacity and developed digital tools using artificial intelligence, satellite imagery and forecasting technologies to assess rooftop resources and grid hosting capability."
This is how you put a lot solar power into a local grid without blasting everything to smitherines once the sun really shines. It's not just about the panels and the connections, it is just as much about the software that controls and distributes the power generated and used.
There must be a way to use these kind of systems and software solutions elsewhere in the world. I don't want the Danish power grid to rely on Chinese software and hardware, but this shows that if there is a will, there is a way - now we just need European suppliers to get the ball rolling here.
