Not to be confused with its US ski resort namesake, this is #Troldhaugen (The Troll Hill), home of world-renowned composer Edvard #Grieg.
Grieg had the house built to fit his wishes, and lived here from 1885. The was given by the Griegs and comes from its position on the top of a hill next to "Troll Valley".
This image is from 1928, two decades after Grieg's death and after his wife Nina had moved back to Denmark, where she spent the remainder of her life. Their ashes are buried within a mountain tomb next to the house.
It was planned to be torn down and replaced by a house by Grieg's son, Einar, but was instead donated to the municipality and has been a museum since this time, later accompanied by a music hall and a museum building.
