@malte Sorry for bringing bad news, linen is not a very good UV blocker. It may be a false sense of security.

@SM0RVV @malte I don't think there's anything special about linen that'd make it more or less protective than other materials (?). It's about the density. Wearing something outdoors all day while working, you might wanna compromise a bit there for the sake of airflow....

There's of course a Wikipedia article about this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_protective_clothing

@SM0RVV I'm not getting it because of any UV blocking abilities. I like it because if the durability and cooling abilities. I rely on having long sleeves of any material to keep the sun away as enough.

@malte Jeg har købt en del linned fra det her firma, og det har været virkelig slidstærkt:

            https://linenfoxclothes.com/women/light-weight-linen/

            Et par noter:
De har ifølge oversigten kun tøj til kvinder og børn. Men det er ret store størrelser og min bror (som ikke er bette) har sagtens kunnet låne min skjorte og den sad fint på ham.

note 2: linket er til deres letteste hørstof. De har også mellem og kraftig.

@malte If you can accept buttons and shirt collar/cuffs I think it will be easier to find. Plenty of linen mens’ shirts around.

Textile and clothing fediverse, give me a tip on who makes good long-sleeved, durable but thin t-shirts in linen or hemp (or mixed with other breathable fibres, no plastic shit). I'm outside in the field for many hours on my job and I'd like to not have to smear suncream on my arms every time. We need to bring back that old school farmer clothes.

Come on fashionista farmers and gardencore wannabes, I know you have some good surprises and gems up your sleeves. Don't tell me to just search for random linen shirts. Who makes the good ones?

@malte yes to the mandarin collar!

So I might actually have more intel. Again looking to the baltics (I think they have traditionally produced lots of linen).
I think its pricey.. But have no idea what your budget is, so here goes.
Also - you might need to run a translater even after setting the language to English

@malte I bought a light blue mandarin collar men's shirt from the store above on a recent trip to Riga.

I get a bit obsessed over linen and wool (depending on season). Just lovely natural materials.
Some of the shirts on that site even have lace-up fronts and are approaching folk costume territory 😆

@BogWitch If it works and is comfortable, I don't mind a bit of anachronism 🙂
